Wk1: Activity - Digital Media Checklist

For me, the quality of a course is fundamentally determined by how well its intended outcomes are achieved. The process of designing this Digital Media Checklist has been profoundly insightful, making me exceptionally clear on the 'value' of the resources I will use for the 'ފަށާ ހުނަރު' minicourse. Since I employ Understanding by Design (UbD) as my primary instructional design model, it is crucial that all resources precisely align with the course's assessment areas. These core areas—Phonological Awareness, Vocabulary, Comprehension, Mental Mathematics, Fine Motor Skills, Coordination, and Characterization—represent the key takeaways and promises to both parents and learners.
 

Therefore, the checklist’s 'Intended Use' and 'Relevance' sections, particularly broken down into 'Focus Areas' and 'Audience Levels,' are paramount. They ensure that every chosen resource directly contributes to these desired learning outcomes, acting as a crucial guideline for others who might create content for the course. While general OER assessment items like Licenses, Accuracy, and Accessibility are undoubtedly important, it is critical that all resources align rigorously with our assessment targets to minimize cognitive overload and ensure truly effective instruction.
