Reflection on Assessment Creation
The biggest takeaway for me was realizing how a careful thought process can drill down to a specific learning outcome, making it very clearly defined. This clarity not only enables me to assess the targeted learning objective, but it also helps the learner by identifying areas of improvement and excellence. For this reason, I designed my rubrics to be simple, with just three levels and three criteria for both the discussion and the assignment, to avoid any "fuzzy middle" and keep things minimal and clear for my age group.
One thing I found very annoying was that my LMS did not support a direct integration of a rubric, which would allow me to automatically calculate results. When I wrote to support on this, they said it had to be done manually. This highlights a significant technical limitation, but it was a good reminder that even with powerful tools, an instructional designer must be prepared to manually bridge gaps in the learner experience.
Week 4 Discussion Prompt:
"After watching the 'Discovering Emotion ޖަޒުބާތު' video and decorating your emotion word, let's share! What is your favorite Dhivehi emotion word that you learned today? Why is it your favorite? Do you think it has a special color, and if so, what color would you choose for it? Share a picture of your decorated word if you like!"

Week 4 Assignment Prompt:
Choose an Emotion Word: Pick one Dhivehi emotion word that you learned in this module (e.g., އުފާ, ރުޅި, ބިރު, މޮޅި, ފަޚުރު, ހައިރާން).
Decorate Your Word: Using cardboard, safety scissors, markers, and recycled materials (like fabric scraps, old buttons, or bottle caps), create and decorate the letters of your chosen emotion word. Think about what colors and materials best show that emotion
Explain you design choices: Make a video no longer than 2 mins explaining , your design choices. Which emotion word you chose, Why you chose those colors and decorations for that emotion
Take a Photo: Take a clear photo of your finished decorated word
