Interactive Module

This week, i did an interactive assessment module for our 'Ants Run Around' book, targeting Oala Learner Level 2 (ages 6-8). This module aims for learners to recall 4-6 Dhivehi words, directly contributing to CLO1: Speak and write Dhivehi clearly to share emotions and stories, and Oala Module Objectives: learners to recall 4-6 Dhivehi words for level 2 learners.
 

My authoring tool choice was Chameleon Creator. It stood out for its Mac compatibility, flexible commitment, and somewhat Dhivehi language support, unlike Articulate, Captivate, or iSpring which presented Mac limitations, long commitments, or regional licensing hurdles. While Chameleon currently lacks full built-in video accessibility (like currently Closed Caption is not available, but transcript links are),  its modularity and willingness to develop further were key advantages.
 

The 15-slide module features diverse interactivity. Learners engage with interactive hotspots on book pages, benefit from human audio narration per page and in Hamii's videos, and encounter varied quiz questions (image-based, fill-in-the-blank) with immediate feedback and hints. A non-assessed drag-and-drop activity provides encouragement. This blend was chosen for engagement, varied assessment, and immediate reinforcement.
 

Meeting accessibility standards remained a core focus. The process highlighted that truly global inclusivity in e-learning faces significant challenges for less common languages and specific regions, as technology isn't always up to par. 
 

This experience reinforced my determination to explore and push tools like Chameleon Creator to support diverse linguistic needs, underscoring the importance of inherent accessibility in instructional design.
